MGM continues its construction as the weather warms up

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A lot of activity on MGM Springfield’s site on Monday.

Tuesday will mark three weeks  since MGM’s groundbreaking ceremony.  With the weather warming up, construction crews were out across MGM’s site.

Seaboard Drilling out of Chicopee was testing soil in a few spots.  Another crew was digging up asphalt in an old parking lot.  We also found workers were taking equipment out of the old South End Community Center.   MGM Springfield is expected to open in the fall of  2017.

22News spoke with Springfield’s Chief Development officer Kevin Kennedy, who told 22News that the city will be making all the permits MGM receives public later this month.  22News will also keep you posted on when any streets will be closed for their construction.
