PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Rescue crews have located the two Boy Scouts who were lost in the thick woods of the Pittsfield State Forest.
22News reporter David McKay reports that the boys were found at around 8:45 Saturday night. They got lost at around 5:00pm.
Searchers saw a small fire in the woods. A state police helicopter flew overhead, and saw people waving from below. That’s when rescuers went in on a six-wheel ATV and found the boys.

The scouts, ages 12 and 14, were part of a larger troop who went hiking in the forest. It’s not clear exactly how they became separated from the group.
State Police trooper Gail Buck told 22News the boys did not have a cell phone, but they did have supplies that could have gotten them through the night.
Rescue crews from multiple surrounding communities assisted in the search using police dogs, all-terrain vehicles, a helicopter, and searchers on foot.
