GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Greenfield police are continuing their search for a man accused of posing a child in the nude, who they say made statements that he wanted to commit “suicide by cop.” On Monday, the department notified local residents that Derek Lecompte had removed his court-ordered GPS monitoring device, and possibly left the area in a gray 2001 Saturn SL.

On Tuesday, Greenfield Police Sgt. Dan McCarthy told 22News that they have some good, solid leads on Lecompte’s whereabouts. He said that the suspect should be in police custody very soon.

Lecompte is described as a white man with brown hair and a scar near his right eye. He is about 6’6” tall and weighs about 250 pounds. Greenfield police say he is to be considered dangerous, and if you see him, you are told to stay away, but call your local police department as soon as possible.
