Easter egg hunt at the Zoo in Forest Park

Families came for the Easter egg hunt

SPRINGFIELD, Mass, (WWLP) – For some of us it’s not quite spring until the Zoo at Springfield’s Forest park open for the season. Families came for the Easter egg hunt and a chance to renew acquaintances with the four legged residents at the Zoo.

Parents told 22News the Zoo re-opening is the perfect start of spring getaway. Cameron Burke of Longmeadow said, “We’ve been looking for outdoor activities lately and this is one of the first we can get out and do, it’s been a long winter.”

“I love to support Forest park It’s a great thing that the community does, I think It’s a really fun thing thing here, I like to support local activities,” said Sarah Mazzaferro of East Longmeadow.

It didn’t take long before families gravitated to their favorite animals. They’ll have plenty of time between now and the end of the season in the fall to be close to members of the Zoo community.
