CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Chicopee police are thanking members of the public for helping them identify the man they say went into a woman’s office and stole her wallet while she was on her lunch break.

Chicopee Police Officer Mike Wilk told 22News that David Vega of Holyoke is being charged with larceny from a building, which is a felony. According to Wilk, Vega walked into a woman’s downtown Chicopee office while she was out Monday afternoon, and stole a wallet and cash from her purse.

On Wednesday, Vega was arrested by Holyoke police for a pair of thefts from Holyoke Medical Center. Holyoke Police Lt. Jim Albert told 22News Vega allegedly stole a $1,000 camera from the hospital on March 25, and a tablet worth more than $250 the following day. He was arraigned on those charges Thursday in Holyoke District Court.
