Springfield & Ludlow’s water quality is safe to drink

An average of 30M gallons of clean water is supplied throughout WMass

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Springfield Water and Sewer Commission published its Annual Water Quality Report early Friday morning.

Springfield and Ludlow’s water quality meets the state and federal standards for safe drinking. The commission had more than 51-thousand water tests in 2014.

Labs that are state certified analyzed water samples daily. Springfield drinking water comes from the Cobble Mountain Reservoir in western Massachusetts.

An annual average of 30-million gallons of clean water per day is supplied to Springfield, Agawam, East Longmeadow, Longmeadow, and Ludlow.
