STCC & Worcester State work together to help students

HCC & WSU signed an identical agreement this year

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A four year college education guaranteed for $30-thousand. 300 Springfield Technical Community College graduates will complete their education at Worcester State University.

STCC and Worcester State presidents, Ira Rubenzahl and Barry Maloney, signed an agreement Thursday afternoon to hold the line on college costs.

STCC student Marcus Silva of Springfield told 22News, it’s a perfect arrangement for working class students who can only afford a limited tuition. He said, “Well, it would be a life debt, I would be in so much debt, I would have to work to pay off my debt, so the program is a great way to have a fixed cost of $30-thousand dollars.”

Earlier this year, Holyoke Community College and Westfield State University signed an identical agreement.
