The Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section helped arrest two men on Nursery Street

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – State Police attached to the Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section (VFAS) helped Springfield Police arrest two suspects Thursday night.

Trooper Joel Daoust, who’s attached to the State Police Barracks in Springfield, told 22News that the Fugitive Section was involved in the arrests of two individuals on Nursery Street in the city’s Liberty Heights section.

He had no other details about the suspects, or what crimes they were wanted for. He said the arrests went without incident.

Springfield Police had no information about the arrests. A Desk Sergeant told 22News that he had “nothing on the board, and no one’s been booked,” as of 8:35 p.m. Thursday.

According to the Mass.Gov website, “The Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section’s (VFAS) top priority is to identify and arrest the most violent criminals.”
