Holyoke man accused of stealing at a local hospital

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – A man from Holyoke is facing larceny charges after police arrested him on Wednesday for allegedly stealing items at the Holyoke Medical Center.

According to Lt. Jim Albert, the Holyoke Police Criminal Investigations Bureau arrested 47-year-old David Vega of Main Street for Larceny over $250. Vega was seen on surveillance video walking in un-authorized areas of the hospital.

Vega was wanted for two incidents at the hospital, Lt. Albert said. On March 25th, Vega was wanted for stealing a $1,000 camera that is used by hospital staff for personal belongings while they’re working. Then, on March 26th, Vega was wanted for stealing a tablet worth more than $250.

Holyoke detectives worked with investigators in Chicopee and Springfield where Vega is also a person of interest in larcenies, Lt. Albert said.

Vega will be arraigned in Holyoke District Court on Thursday, April 2nd.
