WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita police say four children were removed from a home after testing positive for meth.
It happened Tuesday afternoon in the 2700 block of South Bennett.
According to Wichita police, three boys, ages 2, 7 and 12, and one 5-year-old girl were taken to the hospital to be checked and then placed into custody.
“Once again, when DCF does their follow-up on cases, and they learn they got results back from the children testing positive, we’ve got to step in at that point and so the Wichita Police Department will commonly go with them and assist in taking those kids into custody,” said Lt. James Espinoza.
Police say a 34-year-old man and 30-year-woman are suspects in the case. They are the parents.
Police say a 24-year-old woman, who was a registered sex offender, and a 34-year-old man, who was released from the county jail, were in the home.
Police say the children’s conditions are non-life threatening. The investigation into the case is continuing.
