DEERFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Officers from four different police departments in western Massachusetts assisted with a drug arrest in Deerfield on Sunderland Road.

According to the Deerfield Police Facebook page, at around 11:50 p.m. on March 27th, Officer Garrett Danna conducted a routine traffic stop. While speaking with the two suspects in the car, Officer Danna developed probable cause to search.

Police said heroin was found in their possession, and they were placed under arrest for drug related charges. Since one of the suspects was a female, UMass Amherst PD sent a female officer to assist with the search.

During the booking process at the Deerfield Police state, even more heroin was found, police said. The two suspects were apparently coming from the Red Roof Inn.

Officers from Sunderland and Whately also assisted in the arrest.
