Another gunshot incident near AIC campus

Stray bullet hit AIC campus center window on Sunday

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – For the second night in a row, campus police are running extra patrols at American International College in Springfield, after reports of shots fired near campus.

A campus police dispatcher confirmed that a text message went out to students about a shooting incident on the streets near campus Monday night. AIC had also increased security Sunday afternoon after gunshots were fired near campus.

AIC Spokesperson Tim Grader told 22News that a stray bullet hit a window at the AIC campus center on Sunday. No one was hurt.

Springfield Police Captain Trent Duda said investigators looked into Monday’s report, and determined it was “unfounded”.
