WILBRAHAM, Mass. (WWLP) – The power is back on at Minnechaug Regional High School on Main Street in Wilbraham as of 7:00 Friday morning.
National Grid was notified of the outage at the school around 5:45 a.m., Friday and worked for over an hour to get the power back on.
Danielle Williamson, spokesperson for the utility company, told 22News that it appears the school was the only location affected.
Wilbraham Fire Captain Peter Nothe told 22News that two breakers,or fuses, on the top of a utility pole in Wilbraham popped Friday morning; taking out power to the high school.
Captain Nothe said the fire department was called, because when the power went out the CO alarm was triggered, but there was no carbon monoxide leak in the school when they got there.
Classes are resuming as normal.
