Germanwings Pilot Trained In Arizona
Lufthansa confirms Andrea Lubitz, the co-pilot suspected of intentionally downing a Germanwings airliner with 150 people on board, trained in Arizona.

(KPNX) Officials with Lufthansa German Airlines confirmed Thursday that the co-pilot, who is said to have intentionally crashed a Germanwings flight into the French Alps, completed pilot training in Goodyear, Ariz.

Andrea Lubitz, the co-pilot of Germanwings Airbus A320, was a student at the Airline Training Center (ATC) at the Goodyear Airport in 2008, officials said.

Lufthansa says it has trained all of its pilots at ATC for the last 40 years. The facility, which is also owned by Lufthansa, also trains pilots for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and the German Air Force. Students live in dorms on site and train flying smaller planes.
