SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield Narcotics Detectives arrested four people in the city accused of dealing heroin.
Sgt. John Delaney told 22News that lead investigator Jaime Bruno was investigating the case for weeks, with an eye specifically on a home at 138 Cedar Street. Police say they have surveillance evidence showing the dealers were operating out of that home.
Det. Bruno and his team got a search warrant to raid the home at around 12:00pm Thursday. During the raid, police say they spotted two of the dealers leaving the so-called “safe house” to make a delivery.
The detectives arrested those suspects, then went into the home, blaring car horns as a warning that the officers were there.
Detectives say the found 600 bags of heroin and $880 in cash.
Police arrested 29-year-old Jose Lopez, 48-year-old Angel Huertas, 55-year-old Raul Maisonet and 39-year-old Juan Perz.
