Organize your kitchen pantry

CHICOPEE, Mass. (Mass Appeal) – Does your pantry need a makeover? Food and Enteraining Expert Liz Corbett shared easy ways to get organized and some DIY seasoning mixes.

Soup or Sauce Mix (S.O.S. MIX)
This mix equals 9 (10.5 oz. cans of Cream soup)

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons onion flakes
1/4 cup instant chicken boullion
3/4 cup cornstarch
2 tsp Ital. seasoning. (opt)
2 cups dry powdered milk

Directions:
Combine all ingredients until well blended. Store in airtight container in cool dry place.
To make, mix 1/3 cup dry mix and 1 1/4 cups cold water. Whisk and cook in saucepan until thickened or microwave until thickened. Use as you would for one can of creamed soup.

DIY Ranch Dressing Mix

Ingredients:
2 cups dry parsley flakes
1/2 cup instant minced onion
2 Tablespoons dried dill weed
1/4 cup onion salt
1/4 cup garlic salt

Directions:
Mix in food processor briefly until well combined.
To make dressing: combine 1-2 Tablespoons with 1 cup mayo and 1 cup buttermilk.
May substitute sour cream or greek yogurt for either the buttermilk or mayo.
Store in glass jar in refrigerator. Shake before use.

Vanilla Chai Tea Mix

Ingredients:
1 cup nonfat dry milk powder
1 cup powdered non dairy creamer
1 cup french vanilla powdered ” ”
2 cups white sugar
1 1/2 cup UNSWEETENED INSTANT Tea.
2 tsp. ground ginger
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. ground cardamom
1 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 tsp. ground allspice

Directions:
Pulse in food processor until a fine powder. Store in a glass jar. To serve, combine 2-3 Tablespoons with mug of hot water or milk.
