Car dealership helps to grant wishes

A total of $39,000 was donated

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Some seriously sick children will get their wishes granted because of a significant donation.

Bertera Subaru in West Springfield today donated more than $39,000 to Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island, $250 for every new car sold between November 20th, 2014 and January 2nd of this year.

Charlotte Beattie, CEO of Make-A-Wish Massachusetts & Rhode Island, told 22News how this money will be used. “Through this gift, we are going to be able to grant at least seven, possibly 8 children’s wishes in the next several months, which is just incredible.”

According to information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 500 children in Massachusetts and Rhode Island are diagnosed with a serious medical condition each year.
