Wilbraham shooting suspect is in custody

No one was hurt in shooting incident on Main Street

WILBRAHAM, Mass. (WWLP) – 22News has new information on a shooting in Wilbraham Sunday night.

On Monday morning, Wilbraham Police Sgt. Edward Lennon told 22News that a suspect in the Sunday evening shooting is in custody.

Wilbraham Police Captain Timothy Kane told 22News that 47 year old Gilbert Barrett fired two shots at his ex-wife’s car, at 593 Main Street around 6:00 Sunday night.  Barrett was located by police around 10:00 Sunday night and is no longer considered a threat.  No one was hurt in the shooting incident.

Sgt. Lennon couldn’t tell us what charges Barrett is facing, but did say that they would issue a news release later Monday morning.
