Hello there and pleased to meet you! My name is Gizmo and I’m a happy sociable little gentleman who enjoys meeting everybody wherever I go. Don’t pay too much attention to my age. I have plenty of energy for leisurely walks and I even enjoy playing with toys. I also enjoy meeting other dogs but prefer ones who are a little older like myself with a calm and friendly disposition. Sadly, my person passed away recently. I was her faithful companion and even stayed right be her side when she had to use a chair with wheels. I sure hope to find a new home soon. I’ll make someone very happy with my playful personality and silly smile.
Basic Family Dog

Canine Good Citizen
Intermediate level 7 week class with optional CGC Test on the 8th week. This is an AKC sponsored class in which all dogs who have completed some basic training may participate. Earning a CGC certificate can sometimes qualify you for lower home owner’s insurance or enable you to have more rental housing opportunities. Your dog will learn how to walk politely past other dogs, sit calmly while being petted by a stranger, respond quickly when asked to come, sit, lie down, or stay, and a whole lot more. Register online at www.dakinhumane.org or by calling 413-781-4000 ext. 129
Starts in Springfield – April 15th at 7:00 pm
During the month of April, Dakin will offer free spay and neuter surgeries, plus free rabies vaccinations, to stray cats as part of “Community Cat,” PetSmart Charities’ spay/neuter campaign to fix free-roaming cats. If left unfixed, unowned feral and stray cats produce many unwanted and homeless kittens each spring. By taking a proactive approach and getting the cats fixed now, Dakin will help lessen the impact of the coming kitten season. If you are feeding stray cats and want to help them, call 413.781.4019 for information. To learn how to humanely trap stray cats and transport them for this free surgery, Dakin will offer a free “Trap-Neuter- Return” workshop on Saturday, April 4 at 1pm at its Springfield facility. Visit dakinhumane.org for info about this workshop.
