NWS: Wind damage reports in western Mass.

A Wind Advisory is in effect until 5PM Wednesday

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Trees and wires were damaged on Tuesday, March 17th, throughout western Massachusetts as strong winds passed through.

22News Storm Team Meteorologist Brian Lapis said there had been a wind gust measured at 50 miles per hour Tuesday afternoon. Lapis said a Wind Advisory is in effect until 5:00 p.m. Wednesday for all four western counties.

Below are damage reports submitted to the National Weather Service:

  • 2:40 p.m. – Turners Falls, Franklin County (Amateur Radio) – Tree and wires down on Greenfield Road
  • 3:14 p.m. – South Deerfield, Franklin County (Amateur Radio) – Tree down on wires on Routes 5 and 10
  • 4:21 p.m. – Conway, Franklin County (Amateur Radio) – Tree down on Eldridge Road
  • 4:27 p.m. – Northampton, Hampshire County (Amateur Radio) – Wires down on Chesterfield Road
  • 4:51 p.m. – Belchertown, Hampshire County (Amateur Radio) – Tree and wires down on Franklin Street
  • 6:00 p.m. – Montague, Franklin County (Amateur Radio) – Tree down on wires on Taylor Hill Road
  • 7:08 p.m. – Conway, Franklin County (Amateur Radio) – Tree and wires down along graves road
