Bishop blesses Irish lunch in Springfield

The Fort will have an Irish menu through Sunday

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield’s Bishop Mitchell Rozanski blessed a special lunch at the Fort restaurant Tuesday.

The Springfield and Chicopee Colleens and their courts were among those at the lunch. Bishop Rozanski blessed the food of the more than 70 people at the traditional gathering.

Rozanski told 22News about what St. Patrick’s Day means to him. “It’s just wonderful to know the influence of the Irish for Springfield and for the region beyond Springfield. And for all that the Irish have done in the United States, we give thanks to God for the life of St. Patrick, and upon St. Patrick’s influence on the Irish people.”

To continue the celebration, the Fort will have an Irish menu through Sunday, and will host live music Thursday and Friday.
