FITCHBURG, Mass. (WWLP) – A former sex education teacher in Massachusetts has admitted to raping a teenager. Rachelle Gendron of Fitchburg is going to jail for two and a half years.
The 28-year-old admitted she enticed and raped a 14 year-old-boy at the charter school where she taught health and sex education. It’s believed the relationship began more than two years ago, when Gendron started counseling the boy.
Prosecutors said they found several inappropriate photos of her on the boys cell phone. In addition to jail time, she was also sentenced to 10 years probation, and will have to undergo sex offender counseling and GPS monitoring.
She is also not allowed to contact the victim, or have any unsupervised activity with anyone under the age of 16. Gendron’s lawyer said her actions were “an aberration” in an otherwise respectable life.
