Springfield Power restored after affecting nearly 1,000 residents

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – About 1,000 residents in Springfield are back with power after dealing with a power outage Saturday night.

22News received calls from several viewers about the outages in and around the Allen Street area. According to Eversource’s outage map, 500 customers were affected around 8pm. As of 9pm. By 9:30pm, most of the power had been restored.

22News spoke with Tricia Modifica, an Eversource spokeswoman, who said power went out around 7:30pm after a tree limb fell down onto a power line. However, one viewer told 22News his power went out around 6pm.

Modifica said as crews work to repair the line, more outages are common before it gets restored. She could not give the specific location of the power line affected.
