Have a sense of your budget before you “lock in” with contracts
Use an budget sheet with totals at the end of each category
Sum up the major categories – so you’re not surprised
Find a venue where you can bring in your own caterer
Consider the guest list carefully

THE DRESS
Know what looks good on your body!!
Check out close outs or clearance
The bridal shows have huge sales
Set your budget the dresser and consider the tax, alterations and accessories shoes, jewelry, veil, etc.
Rent a dress (so many want to get a better photographer and will get the dress of their dreams knowing their never going to wear it again). it’s not the norm but it is growing and so you can find them on line.

HOW TO FIND YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER
Shop within your price range
See former brides whole book not just the “best of”
Make sure you pick the photographer for your style
a) Journalistic, Art shots Portraits
b) Outdoor photos vs indoor venue
c) Lighting VS natural light
d) How many great shots from one wedding
e) Does it capture the day and the emotion of the day?

Make yourself
Go simple (use up-lighting and you could practically put anything on the table and it will look good)

Something that people would like
Jam, Honey, Maple Syrup, beer/wine with labels
Glasses with items in it ie. Martini glass, Mug with date, shot glass, wine stopper
