SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A man, who along with his girlfriend was accused of raping a 14 year-old girl and having her sign a sex slave contract, was sentenced to up to nine years in prison in a Springfield courtroom Friday.

Nathaniel Lami of Westfield pleaded guilty six counts of statutory rape, two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child over the age of 14, and reckless endangerment of a child. He was initially charged in 2013 with aggravated rape of a child, posing a child in the nude, and distributing child pornography. Our media partner, The Westfield News reported that among the evidence seized during the police investigation was an agreement the victim called a “sex slave contract.”

Prosecutors said that the victim saw had known Lami for a number of years, and had seen him as a “big brother figure.” Prosecutors say that Lami had cut the victim with a scalpel, and then licked her blood.

The case against Lami’s girlfriend, Leonne A. Vieu, is continuing.

At Hampden Superior Court in Springfield Friday, he was sentenced to seven to nine years at MCI Cedar Junction in Walpole on the statutory rape charges. Prosecutors had been seeking 10 to 12 years. He was also sentenced to two-and-a-half year sentences for the reckless endangerment and indecent assault charges, but those will be served concurrently with the longer sentence. After his time in prison, Lami will be on probation for 10 years.
