Vengeful words boldly painted on a home in California: “My wife is a cheater.” Now, the homeowner has now been arrested on a charge of first-degree arson.
Neighbors got a rude awakening around 1:30 AM. “I heard a loud a lot of crackling noises and then a loud boom.”
Firefighters arrived to find the home in flames and a stark message sprayed on the walls: “My wife is a cheater.”
“The flames were just jumping out.” Steve Ludwig had called 911 while running toward the explosion. “I seen flames coming from the bedroom window, so I just figured, ‘Man, if there’s anyone in there, I don’t see how they’re going to get out.'”
Fortunately no one was inside the home when it exploded.
“My son’s been here this morning picking up glass out of the back yard. It was doubly scary, ’cause I just lived through — a year and a half ago — this house burning down.”
According to a family member, the wife who lived here with three young children had not been staying at the home since leaving a few weeks ago; the backyard still full of kid’s toys.
“I’m very shocked. I didn’t know there was a problem. I hadn’t seen the children out playing, but we’ve had bad weather”
Police say the husband, William Lindauer was arrested for investigation of arson and other possible charges. From her Facebook page, neighbors confirmed Bre Lindauer is the wife and say she and her children are safe.
“I knew they had little kids and it just scared us to death.”
“Typical neighbors, and I was really shocked to hear that he was being held. It’s hard to believe.”
