EAST BROOKFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A man who police say set off an AMBER Alert when he abducted his three year old daughter in Delaware will be arraigned in a central Massachusetts courtroom Wednesday afternoon. The FBI’s Boston office says that Michael Trotta, 43, was found with his daughter Elinor at an apartment complex in Spencer late Tuesday afternoon.

The girl is safe, and Trotta was ordered held overnight without the right to bail. He will face a fugitive from justice charge at East Brookfield District Court Wednesday, and will face later charges of assault, endangerment, and carjacking back in Delaware.

New Castle, Delaware police say that on Monday, Trotta assaulted the girl’s mother (his ex-girlfriend), and then took Elinor, who they feared was in “imminent danger.” They had speculated that he was taking the girl to New Jersey, New York City, or even Wisconsin, before they found them in Worcester County, where Trotta has family connections.
