CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – With some snow Thursday and another potential snowstorm on the way for the weekend, many people are wondering whether we will be seeing an end to this very active weather pattern any time soon.
The way the pattern is set up, a lot of cold air is moving south from Canada. A storm system will move to the south of New England and rapidly intensify on Saturday night into Sunday, which could bring blizzard conditions to eastern Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine. It also has the potential to bring significant snowfall to us here in western Massachusetts.
Right now, there doesn’t seem to be a pattern change on the way anytime soon, so there is no clear indication that relief is on the way. Indeed, at this time of year, heavy snowfalls are commonplace. Looking back to last year on Valentine’s Day, we picked up a foot of snow.
