"The Slap" Hits NBC
"The Slap", an 8-hour special event series about the ripple effects of a man slapping another family's misbehaving children, debuts tonight on NBC.

(NBC News) The repercussions of a brief, but violent act play out in a new mini-series starting Thursday night on NBC.

The new TV drama dubbed “The Slap” is based on a best-selling novel from Australia, which had previously been turned into a hit TV mini-series in that country.

For the American version, NBC has pulled together a star studded cast that is sure to draw strong reactions from its audience.

“I think if the show works, I was telling someone else, I’m going to be pretty loathed,” said Zachary Quinto, a cast member of “The Slap” who plays one of the more polarizing roles in the title event.

One thing is for sure, tensions are guaranteed to run high in a can’t-miss event starting Thursday night.
