(NBC News) – If you feed your dog Nutrisca dry dog food, there’s a recall you need to know about.

Some of Nutrisca’s Chicken and Chickpea Recipe dry dog food is being recalled because it may be contaminated with salmonella.

The recall involves four-pound bags only.

Salmonella can affect animals eating a contaminated product and there’s risk to humans from handling contaminated products.

The dog food was distributed and sold nationwide at retail stores and online.

Consumers are urged to discard the product in a securely covered trash receptacle and contact Nutrisca for more information at 1-888-559-8833.
