SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) – Residents in South Hadley voted Wednesday night to raise the legal age limit when it comes to buying tobacco products and nicotine delivery products.
South Hadley Health Board member Suzanne Cordes told 22News that the vote was held during a Public Hearing and it was unanimous. Now, the legal age will increase from 18 to 21.
Cordes said business owners were concerned over a possible drop in sales, but they are more concerned with the public health.
The new regulations go into effect on April 1st of this year.
