NY man arrested for trafficking Oxycodone in MA

Amaury Pena was speeding and sliding from lane to lane

STURBRIDGE, Mass. (WWLP) – On Monday morning, during the height of the third snowstorm in New England, State Police arrested a man from New York who was speeding on the highway.

According to State Police, 28-year-old Amaury Pena was allegedly speeding down Route 84 eastbound in Sturbridge when Trooper Sergio Figueitedo pulled him over. Pena was driving a 2006 Acura and his license plates were completely covered with snow.

Police said Trooper Figueiredo investigated the car and found 1,249 pills of Oxycodone. Pena was arrested and charged with trafficking in a Class A narcotic, speeding, obscured license plate, and a marked lanes violation.

Pena was held on $50,000 bail until his arraignment at Dudley District Court.
