ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — Jesse Matthew has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of University of Virginia student Hannah Graham, two sources confirmed to NBC29 Monday.

The charge is likely what Albemarle County police and the local Commonwealth’s Attorney will announce at a press conference planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday. According to a press release, the press conference will be about an update in the Jesse Matthew case.

Matthew was already charged in Graham’s disappearance in September. The 18-year-old’s remains were found several weeks later in the southern part of Albemarle county, near where Matthew had previously lived.

Investigators also suspect Matthew in a 2005 Fairfax rape case, which has been linked forensically to the 2009 death of Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington in Charlottesville.

Mathew is incarcerated in Fairfax County
