Westfield mayor not selected for Town Administrator post

Interim Walpole town administrator selected to fill permanent job

Westfield Mayor Daniel Knapik

WALPOLE, Mass. (WWLP) – Westfield Mayor Daniel Knapik will not be the next town administrator of the eastern Massachusetts town of Walpole.

The Norfolk County town named Jim Johnson its permanent town administrator.  Johnson had been serving as the town’s interim administrator.

Knapik, who told 22News in December that he will not run for re-election, was one of three finalists for the Walpole job.  Knapik interviewed for the job on Wednesday night, but the town decided to hire their in-house candidate Johnson.

Knapik has served as mayor of Westfield since 2010.
