HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Hundreds gathered Friday at Holyoke Community College to celebrate the success of the Secure Jobs program.
They heard from some of the 200 western Massachusetts formerly homeless families they’ve helped.
Single mom Nicole Frisino of Chicopee benefited from the program. She said, “They gave me the resources I needed to find a job, they gave me the resources needed to find day care, and they gave me a one hundred dollar gift card to be able to transport back and forth to work.”
The secure jobs program uses state and private money to help put the homeless to work. Friday marked the program’s second anniversary.
