26 year-old wounded in Springfield shooting

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP)– A man was brought to the hospital following a shooting in Springfield’s Forest Park neighborhood early Thursday morning.

Springfield Police Captain Robert Strempek told 22News that officers were called to the area of Tiffany Street at around 12:30 A.M. When they got there, they found that a 26 year old man had been shot.

He was taken to the hospital, but no information is being released on the seriousness of his injuries.

Captain Strzempek did say the initially the victim was not cooperating with police.

Additional details on the shooting are expected to be released later in the day.
