SOUTHWICK, Mass. (WWLP) – As the 22News Storm Team tracks more snow, school districts are hoping it doesn’t lead to more snow days.
Southwick-Tolland-Granville Superintendent of Schools John Barry told 22News that they budget for five snow days each calendar year, and they have already surpassed that; having used six days.
On snow days, some parents scramble to make arrangements for their kids while others enjoy a days off themselves.
“We get to stay in and watch movies so it works out,” Michelle St. Laurent of Palmer said.
Barry told 22News that right now, there are no plans to cut February vacation short. It is likely that the school year will extend into summer break.
