BLANDFORD, Mass. (WWLP) A former Selectman in Blandford is accused of violating conflict of interest laws.
Robert Nichols is accused of participating in the town’s decision to hire his private company to prepare bid specifications for road repairs and approving the town’s 12 thousand dollars payment to his company for the work.
The Ethics Commission enforcement division alleges Nichols misrepresented his position with the company.
It’s against the law for municipal employees to have a financial interest in a contract made by a municipal agency in the same town.
The state’s Ethic’s Commission will schedule a hearing on the matter within 90 days.
22News is working to reach Nichols for comment.
