SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – There was a major traffic backup Wednesday night during the evening commute in Springfield. Traffic was backed up for miles on I-91 south.
It was a sea of tail-lights from the Longmeadow Curve, where a Jeep Cherokee rolled over and ended up on its roof near Exit 1, just after 5 o’clock Wednesday.
State Trooper Matthew Guarino told 22News a 22-year-old Chicopee man suffered only minor injuries when his SUV crashed.
Southbound traffic was pretty much at a stand-still for 2 hours during rush hour, and was backed up through Springfield. A lot of people were late getting home.
The crash site was cleared around 7:15 p.m.
