SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A portion of the elevated section of Interstate 91 was blocked off Monday night after at least one tractor trailer crashed on the highway in Springfield.
State Trooper Kenneth Belben told 22News that at least two big rigs were involved in a collision on I-91 near exit 7 in Springfield at about 8:25 p.m. Monday. At 10:00 p.m., only one disabled TT-unit was visible from the 22News Monarch sky cam. The area was cleared by 10:45 p.m.
No word on what caused the crash, but roads were still at least partially snow-covered at that time. Trooper Belben had no reports of any injuries. He said traffic was moving on the left and middle lanes of the southbound side because the right lane was closed.
The highway was completely re-opened overnight.
