(WPXI) Newly released dashcam video shows how fast a handcuffed woman traveled while she led officers on a chase in a stolen police cruiser outside of Pittsburgh earlier this month.
Investigators said 27-year-old Roxanne Rimer led officers on the chase through Center Township and Monaca in Beaver County after crawling through the glass partition of an officer’s cruiser.
Police said Rimer was detained on shoplifting suspicions prior to the chase and somehow managed to drive the cruiser with her hands behind her back.
“With her back turned and her hands cuffed behind her back, she manages to put it in gear and drive. And from what we can gather, she drove at very high speeds with that position somehow manipulating the gears and steering the wheel. Thank God, no one else was hurt,” Center Township Police Chief Barry Kramer. “She put a lot of lives in danger.”
