GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Trucks, cars, snowmobiles, snow blowers, and generators were filled up at the pumps on Monday before the snow started to fall.

Many people that pulled up to the gas pumps also had a couple extra red gas cans to make sure they were topped off and well prepared for the winter storm. At some points gas stations had lines of cars waiting to fill up.

For most of the people 22News spoke with on Monday it was all about being well prepared in case the storm causes power outages. Ed Winseck of Greenfield said, “I’m hearing there’s going to be a lot of snow. So I’m here filling up these gas tanks because I’ve got snow blowers I’ve got to run. I’ve got a generator I’ve got to run. Got to fill and top off the tanks. Get ready. Hunker down.”

Many folks referred to the storm that we had back in 2013 or back in 1978, but are hoping that the state, power companies, and communities are well prepared as well.
