WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – It’s been a long day for Western Massachusetts plow operators clearing the roads, streets and driveways, and their work is far from over.
All day the private plow operators were busy clearing away the snow on private property throughout the Pioneer Valley; a workload that will keep them busy all through the weekend.
When 22News caught up with plow operator John Hackett Saturday afternoon, he had been on the road since 8 o’clock this morning.
“It’s nice to have some snow instead of all that ice,” said Hackett. “Anything over 3 inches is good.”
Up until the storm this weekend, the men and women who supplement their incomes plowing driveways and parking lots had very little opportunity to earn some extra money this winter.
