I-90 Mass Pike speed restrictions have been lifted

Drivers were advised to allow plows enough space on the roads to work

BOSTON, Mass. (WWLP) – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has lifted the 40 miles per hour speed limit restriction and is now back to original speeds on the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) from the New York border through Boston. That includes all of Western Massachusetts along the Pike.

On its official Twitter page (@MassDOT) Saturday morning, the DOT tweeted that tandems would be allowed on the Pike during this snowstorm. The DOT tweeted that across Massachusetts, there were 1,136 snow crews out treating and clearing state roadways. Drivers were advised to allow plows enough space on the roads to work.
