“Blackhat”

A Look at the Movies

Rated R

1 hour 50 minutes

Chris Hemsworth, Viola Davis, Weng Tai

CHICOPEE, Mass (WWLP) – You can always depend on Director Michael Mann for a stylish thriller. Mann’s digital age mystery, “Blackhat” Enhances the story with all of the rich atmosphere his films are so famous for.

Since It takes a Hacker to catch a Hacker, the feds get Chris Hemsworth out of jail to track down a master Cyber criminal who knows all the tricks. Even the barely computer literate like me can’t help being fascinated by “Blackhat’s” visual razzle dazzle.

Hemsworth certainly didn’t get the role for his acting skill. Unlike Viola Davis, who delivers a first rate performance as a hard boiled government operative riding herd on her boy wonder. By setting most of the action in Hong Kong, “Blackhat” passionately Introduces Chinese star Weng Lai to an American audience.

You’ll need to stay sharp to keep up with all the twists and turns in this tricky cyber crime story line. “Blackhat” is one high tech thriller that keeps you in suspense to the very end.

The computer programming steals the show as “Blackhat” keeps up with the times by hacking its way into a solid Three Stars.

It’s like I said, Director Michael Mann makes the most entertaining thrillers.
