(KMTR) Health officials in Eugene, Oregon are working to identify anyone exposed to a local patient who contracted measles during a visit to California.
County health officials are working to notify people who may have had close enough contact with the man for the disease to spread.
“Our epidemiological pool is shrinking,” said Jason Davis with Lane County Public Health. “So every day that goes by, as we get to the 25th, that’s our window – if people don’t show symptoms before then, then we’re probably out of the woods.”
Davis said the Eugene man went with his family to a Disney park in the outbreak area, traveled back to Eugene, began displaying symptoms and went to a medical provider.
