Minnesota man allegedly embezzled from a Franklin Cty. business

Dwight Gaddis faces 25 years in state prison

GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A 51-year-old man from Chanhassen, Minnesota will be arraigned in Franklin Superior Court for allegedly embezzling thousands from Franklin Community Cooperative.

According the Mary Carey of the Northwestern DA’s office, Dwight Gaddis will be arraigned at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, in connection with his alleged embezzlement of $60,000.

Franklin Community Cooperative operates Green Fields Market in Greenfield and McCuskers Market in Shelburne Falls. Carey said Gaddis served as General Manager of the Cooperative for 9 months starting in December of 2012, and resigned in September of 2013.

The Franklin County Grand Jury returned 5 indictments against Gaddis, each charging him with larceny over $250, in violation of Chapter 266, Section 30 of Massachusetts General Laws, Carey said. Each indictment is punishable by up to 5 years in state prison.
