East Longmeadow police searching for attempted robbery suspects

Clerk was allegedly approached by armed suspects after locking up shop

Police were called to the C Mart convenience store at 668 North Main Street for an attempted armed robbery

EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – East Longmeadow police are searching for two suspects after an attempted armed robbery early Thursday morning.

East Longmeadow Police Sgt. Daniel Bruno told 22News two suspects armed with handguns allegedly approached a clerk after he had locked up the C Mart at 668 North Main Street.

The victim described the suspects as “possibly teenaged” males with one wearing a black hooded shirt.

The clerk told police he then ran away from the armed suspects who allegedly chased him down the street, grabbing his arm.

According to the clerk, the two made their getaway as soon as he turned to face them, heading towards Springfield.

Sgt. Bruno said the victim was reportedly uninjured with nothing stolen.

A police dog from Springfield was called in to try to track the suspects, but was unable to find anything.
