6th suspect in gang rape arraigned in court

Torre Gamble pleaded not guilty during arraignment

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A sixth suspect charged in connection with the alleged gang rape of a woman at a West Springfield hotel pleaded not guilty in court Thursday.

Torre Gamble was ordered held on $25,000 bail during his arraignment at Springfield District Court.

During the arraignment of the five other defendants on Wednesday afternoon, Assistant District Attorney Victoria Lauro Wright said that what was supposed to be a small party in a hotel room on January 15 turned into a nightmare for the 20 year-old victim.

The five other suspects, Raul Ramos, Fernando Ramos, Joseph Lopez, Geovanny Gutierrez, and Tyler Gibson, all pleaded not guilty Thursday and were ordered held on bail ranging from $25,000 to $5,000.

Defense attorneys said that the victim and some of the defendants knew each other from high school.
