SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The VA central Western Massachusetts healthcare system is looking for ways to improve service to veterans through an open dialog.
Nearly one hundred people were in attendance at the La Quinta Inn in Springfield Wednesday night, for a town hall style meeting designed for veterans and their family members.
The systems director John Collins told 22News the veterans benefit from the forum by letting their voices be heard.
“Probably most importantly is to hear what the veterans have to say. I’m a new director, I’ve been at the job 90 days, and forums like this help us understand how we can better meet their needs,” Director John Collins said.
The VA system provides healthcare to more than 25-thousand veterans at its main facility in Leeds and it’s five other outpatient clinics throughout Western and Central Massachusetts.
